Your role as Assistant Manager is an absolutely crucial part of doing this, supporting the GM to maximise sales, and control costs through a motivated and passionate team, by –

People

- Being the person in charge when the GM is away, setting up your restaurant for success, then managing, communicating and delegating to the team throughout.
- Communicating clearly with your GM and Operations Manager, making sure any problems or successes are flagged.
- Leading like you mean it and always working as part of a complete restaurant team, actively encouraging teamwork between BOH and FOH to ensure a smooth-running restaurant.
- Being a role model of Zizziness and supporting your GM to coach your team to be the same.
- Giving all new team members a warm welcome, making sure they get all the training and support they need to deliver Great times to our customers.
- Recognising good and poor performance in the team and highlighting to the GM, as well as giving praise, constructive feedback and coaching in the moment.
- Supporting the GM to attract, develop and retain the best industry through Viaggio to be the best they can be, maintaining a full motivated and engaged family tree
- Ensuring all employees have the correct right to work documentation and that Zizzi procedure is followed in relation to any ER issues, drawing on support from your Operations and HR manager as needed.
- Always looking to progress and develop yourself and seeking opportunities to learn more.

Service

- Showing your team how it’s done by being the face of Zizzi, living and breathing the 4 key ingredients of Zizzi service culture, and making sure they do the same.
- Building great rapport and relationships with all customers, touching tables to ensure they’re having a Great time.
- Use customer feedback to improve our service, to celebrate our wins and identify areas of opportunity. Get into the details and make sure the team are aware and learn from it.

Food & Drink

- Taking responsibility to make sure the perfect serve is always achieved. Italian food and drink is at the heart of what we do, so you know your stuff, and work with the Head Chef to coach the BOH if something isn’t quite right.
- Being able to roll your sleeves up and work in the kitchen, understanding each role and the importance of supporting the kitchen team.
- Being passionate about our food, knowing our menu inside out, understanding dietary requirements, and coaching and developing your team to do the same.
- Sharing your knowledge and passion with our customers and tempting them to try new things.

Restaurant

- Understanding service and sales go hand in hand, always working to sell that little bit more to make the restaurant a commercial success and encouraging your team to do the same.
- Managing the restaurant when the GM is away, communicating with the Operations
Manager, Restaurant Support and suppliers when needed.
- Supporting the GM in optimising contribution and profitability through productivity and being hungry for sales.
- Being an expert on Zizzi policies and procedures to run a safe and secure restaurant, and using the given tools to monitor, record and manage all requirements. Supporting the GM to make sure your team are trained up and following them as well, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of your team and customers is maintained above expectation.
- Making sure that the restaurant is fit for purpose, looking fabulous and your team have all the tools they need to do their jobs well, flagging any issues with the GM.
- Knowing your competitors and your local marketplace and supporting the GM in developing business plans to drive more covers, to be top of the town.

Salary: £26,500.00-£28,000.00 per year
