SRUC is unique in Scotland and one of the largest organisations of its kind in Europe. Our ambitious and exciting vision is to work at local, national and international levels, leading innovation and sustainable development in agriculture and rural sectors.

The Challenge Centres are in the establishment phase and require support for the underpinning structure and mechanisms to become recognisable ‘go-to’ entities. The Safe & Improved Food centre (SIF) has a specific role in development and liaison with the SeedPod food-hub, as well as other partners in food production and food safety. The associate will play a key role in development of the SIF centre activities: externally for publicity and network building, and internally for organisation, mapping expertise and capabilities, and evidencing for reporting. Specifically, the post holder will provide administrative centre support, evidencing and co-ordinating centre activities. The post-holder will link closely with the other challenge centre associates to coordinate joint centre activities. The successful candidate will have an understanding of academic institutions and the research environment.

There are four main elements for this role (i) in administrative support for developing and running the centre, (ii) communication with centre members and stakeholders, (iii) assisting with centre-run events and (iv) assisting in winning centre-relevant funding.
