What are we looking for

Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Colorectal CNS (Band 6) to join our DDSI Institute.


Using their skills and expertise in colorectal surgery, colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, begin colorectal disease and stoma care the CNS provides clinical and emotional support to their patients, coordinates their care pathway, and informs and advises them on clinical and practical issues associated with their disease/presenting condition. The stoma care CNS will also liaise with local support services and refer for on-going stoma care support within the community to ensure care provision continuity.


Role information

This full time and permanent position would require the post-holder to work 37.5 hours per week.


This is a Monday-Friday days-only role, generally 0900-1700 however with some flexibility required as per the service needs.


The maximum salary on offer for this opportunity would be £45,000 and would be dependent upon experience and competencies against the role requirements.


What will your duties include

  • Puts quality at the heart of practice by delivering evidence based individualised and personalised care through holistic needs assessment (including pre-procedure/pre-surgery, inpatient and post-discharge), care planning and evaluation of care and all care interventions.
  • Provides clinical expertise, specialist advice and support across service boundaries.
  • Defines and initiates a clear care pathway, refers to other professionals and signposts to other agencies as appropriate.
  • Influences and develops policy and clinical guidelines internally and externally.
  • Promotes self-management, risk stratifying patients into who can self-manage following education, those who will need guided support to self-manage and those who will require ongoing, face to face support, in order to support people to live with and beyond Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular treatment.


What we need from you

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required and post graduate qualification within specialty
  • Extensive working as a Senior Staff Nurse or higher working within a colorectal surgical environment.
  • Excellent presentation and training skills required, with track record of delivering clinical training courses
  • Previous experience in private healthcare preferred
  • Comfortable training clinical staff in class-room environment, including large class sizes on occasion and comfortable to take leading role in facilitation of training workshops
