Job Description


The Data Enterprise Architect is responsible for developing and implementing the overall data and MI strategy and roadmap for an organisation. They work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and data professionals to ensure that data is captured, stored, processed, and utilized in a consistent, secure, and efficient manner across the enterprise. The Data Enterprise Architect provides guidance and leadership in defining the data architecture vision, principles, standards, and best practices, and drives the adoption of data management technologies and methodologies to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the data strategy covering people, process, and platforms.
  • Develop targets and roadmap in alignment with the overall IT and business strategies.
  • Define and maintain data architecture principles, standards, and best practices, and ensure compliance across the organisation.
  • Lay the foundation for our future – help establish clearly defined Enterprise data sets and ownership.
  • Play a leading role in making IM a truly data-driven enterprise
  • Define the data shared across the enterprise and the relationships between those data.
  • Design and model data structures, data flows, data integrations, and data governance frameworks to support business needs and ensure data consistency, integrity, and security.
  • Evaluate and recommend data management technologies, tools, and methodologies to optimize data processing, storage, and utilisation.
  • Lead and participate in data modeling, data profiling, data quality assessments, and data lineage analyses to identify and resolve data issues and improve data quality.
  • Develop and maintain data architecture documentation, including data models, data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, and data integration specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to data architects, data engineers, and other IT professionals involved in data management initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data architecture and management, and provide thought leadership to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a data architect or data enterprise architect, with a strong understanding of data architecture principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of data modeling, data integration, data quality, data governance, and data security concepts and technologies.
  • Experience with data management technologies such as relational databases, data warehouses, big data platforms, data lakes, and cloud-based data services.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to analyze complex data requirements and develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, IT teams, and data professionals.
  • Experience in designing data architectures for large-scale, complex, and distributed systems.
  • Have a strong consulting experience, managing and delivering complex datasets in consulting engagements, balancing conceptual thinking with pragmatic and hands-on delivery.
