POSITION: Exhibition Sales Manager (Maternity Cover)

START DATE: July 2023

DURATION: 9-12 Month Contract

DEPARTMENT: Sales

REPORTING TO: Head of Entertainment, Exhibitions & Marketing

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

As Exhibition Sales Manager, you will work closely with key stakeholders to attract new business and retain existing clients, bringing a range of B2B & B2C exhibitions to P&J Live.

KEY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for identifying and approaching prospective exhibition organisers with a view to bringing new events to Aberdeen
  • Working closely with local organisations and key stakeholders such as ONE to identify opportunities within specific sectors that are strongholds within the region.
  • Liaise with national team on bringing exhibitions and roadshows to P&J Live and other ASM Global venues
  • Producing fully costed proposals and bids in order to secure new business
  • Work closely with existing clients to develop and grow existing content/revenue
  • Work closely with operations to maximise exhibition revenue through additional services
  • Responsible for devising and implementing a Sales Plan to meet agreed targets in exhibition sales
  • Assist with the setting of strategy and annual budgets for exhibition sales
  • Monitoring and analysing the sales targets across the exhibition market and implementing remedial actions
  • Work proactively to retain and further develop relationships with a number of key accounts
  • Actively promoting the venue, conducting presentations, client entertaining, networking and site visits
  • Ensuring that all sales are accurately contracted and invoiced, liaising with Finance to ensure receipt of payments
  • Maintain relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing industry publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking best practices and participating in industry steering groups and/or boards
  • Work collaboratively with PR & Marketing on all market sector campaigns and promotions

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Detailed understanding of the local, regional and national exhibition and event sector.

Experience

  • Exhibition/Event industry experience would be desirable
