The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity to join our Workplace & Facilities Management Team within our Northwest and Yorkshire Geography, providing support to our offices in Sheffield, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, York, and Whitehaven.


The role of the Facilities Coordinator is to provide a safe and comfortable environment to the members of the workplaces within the geography and to also provide support and guidance as appropriate to the wider Facilities team. Reporting into the Geography Facilities Manager, liaising with them on a day-to-day basis & attending meeting.


As part of this role, you will be responsible for a variety of important tasks including Contractor Management, Project Management of small works/projects, and Monthly reporting.


In addition to these core tasks, you will also have the chance to expand your skill set and take on new challenges as the role and department continue to evolve. We will provide you with the necessary training and support to help you grow professionally.

As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a diverse range of colleagues, including the Facilities Manager, internal/external Contractors, FM team and staff within Arup. Your daily interactions with these individuals will allow you to develop a deep appreciation of the business and help you to build strong working relationships across the organization.


Is this role right for you?

We are looking for people who:

  • Have general knowledge of site plant, equipment, and office services. Be resilient under pressure and be able to converse confidently with staff, customers, and suppliers at all levels.
  • Understand the importance of process, reports, and paperwork and good problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Have IWFM level 3 award or working towards. As well as an associate membership with IWFM.
  • Have knowledge of CAFM Systems and E-Permits systems.
  • Experienced in various aspects of Health & Safety (e.g., Risk Assessments, Method Statements, COSHH, etc.).
  • Ideally have current First Aid certificate but not essential.
  • Ideally have current knowledge and understanding of Fire Warden/Marshal duties.
