Group Financial Controller | Kent | 80-100k + package

Our client, an acquisitive, private equity owned Group comprising of multi-site UK wide operations, is seeking to appoint an experienced and talented Group Financial Controller.

The Group Financial Controller will lead transactional and Group reporting teams to support delivery of the strategy and lead the development of the team as the Group grows through acquisition and organically. This individual will be a key stakeholder in continuing to transform Group Finance systems and processes working closely with the Financial Programs Director.

The Group FC will report to the Group Finance Director supported by the CFO, also liaising with Regional Commercial Directors and Finance Managers, the Management Accounting team, the FP&A teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integration of new M&A into the accounting software and transaction functions
  • Acting as ‘right hand’ deputy to the GFD
  • Provide strong leadership and development to Direct Reports and Wider team.
  • Managing the monthly reporting cycle and providing consolidated reporting through to management, investors and external parties such as banks
  • Ownership of support centre and holding company management accounts (and associated forecasting) including debt, equity and lending related transactions
  • The role will lead the transactional finance teams which when combined incorporate AP, AR and credit control and be responsible for driving efficiencies in this area and integrating the back-office functions of acquisitions as the Group develops.
  • Leading and developing of the Group Accounting team including monthly consolidated accounts, fixed asset management and group reporting.
  • Leading and developing the Group Payroll function
  • Managing and developing financial controls and procedures across the Group and ensuring compliance with external regulators, investors and bank requirements.
  • Leading the year end process managing the audit and delivery of statutory accounts
  • Ownership of Group treasury including formal 12 week rolling cashflow reporting.
  • Ownership of the daily commercial banking relationships, banking approvals and associated reporting. Ensuring all banking facilities are fit for purpose with streamlined purposes for all accounts. Oversight of client money provision including compliance with relevant regulations
  • Ensuring the group structure of legal entities is maintained with clear purposes for each legal entity.
  • Tax accounting, reporting and compliance across the group including VAT, CT, DT, capital allowances and payroll taxes.
  • Support the CFO and GFD to deliver bank and investor requirements in a leveraged environment.
  • Support the Group Finance Director with insightful information for investor reporting, cashflow management and preparation for the annual audit.
  • Build strong relationships with the Operations and Commercial team and work collaboratively to support any ongoing activities and projects.
  • Improve ongoing processes and procedures to achieve optimal efficiency and delivery of programmes of work.

Candidate Profile

  • ACA, CIMA, ACCA Or equivalent qualifications
  • Strong analytical, financial planning and budget management skills
  • Have a keen eye for detail and considerable technical and commercial awareness

  • Good communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. Team player and proven leadership qualities and experience
  • Being flexible, innovative, and adaptable at work in order to meet competing priorities
  • Extensive experience of working in a financial role with oversight of a group function
  • Preferably a proven ability of operating successfully in Private Equity Backed Businesses
  • Experience of leading in a complex environment
  • Experience of working in a constantly changing environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £80,000.00-£100,000.00 per year
