Glendale currently delivers in excess of £4m p.a. of commercial grounds maintenance to corporate clients across the UK and now seek a Contract Manager to head up our successful territory covering North London and the home counties.

Branded as a GEM contract (Glendale Estates Management) Glendale established our GEM brand to support our entry into the corporate maintenance sector. Now with c12 established GEM offices, we are able to offer a national service to clients, supported by locally awarded contracts to offer scale, additional services and greater flexibility to our clients.

Operating on a hybrid model of depot, site and remote working teams, our services from this office cover North London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Beds and Bucks, Avon and the South West.

The Opportunity

This is an outstanding career opportunity with a market leader to deliver a strategically important contract offering the full range of services. Clients bridge a number of sectors from retail, offices, pubs, hotels and schools to prestige housing, parkland and estates. A diverse portfolio of clients to differing specifications and requiring a flexible approach to service delivery using a team of multi-skilled professionals.

Services include complete landscape maintenance including grounds maintenance, grass cutting, horticultural services, cleansing, winter maintenance, consultancy services including tree safety, landscape improvements and habitat creation.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of managing grounds maintenance and project teams and be able to drive productivity whilst ensuring our team provides a quality service. You should have a strategic outlook to enable continuous improvement and identify opportunities and efficiencies along the way.

This is a hands-on role involving monitoring the progress of teams on-site and taking quick and effective action to maintain both high productivity and client satisfaction. You will have full responsibility for the Contract accounts and production of weekly and monthly reports.

The Person

Candidates should be well organised, and have skills and experience in people and contract management, with a passion for parks, conservation, countryside & the natural environment. Above all they need to possess excellent leadership ability, enthusiasm, excellent people management and communication skills. A horticultural qualification and a good understanding of IT and field management systems would be preferred.

You should have a strategic outlook to meet short, medium and long-term objectives and champion continuous improvement and community involvement.
