We’re recruiting for a commercially minded Head of Packaging Development, internally known as Head of Structural Packaging, to join and lead our Global Packaging team across UK, France & Asia. You’ll have experience delivering successful packaging solutions whilst optimising cost, maximising quality, and minimizing environmental impact to ensure we meet and exceed our sustainability targets. This is a full-time role, based from our Southampton office and will require overseas travel.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Lead the Global Packaging team in developing and delivering high-quality packaging solutions for a wide variety of products within our Own Exclusive Brand (OEB) ranges
  • Ensure packaging targets are met, which include, reduction & improvements in packaging, cost reduction, improvement of sustainability credentials and on time delivery of OEB projects
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Quality, Supply Chain & Sourcing teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution of packaging projects for new & existing products
  • Continuously evaluate and optimise the packaging portfolio to ensure competitiveness in the market and meet the evolving needs of our customers
  • Maintain relationships with external vendors to ensure timely delivery of packaging related projects
  • Ensure compliance with relevant packaging regulations and standards, including those related to sustainability and environmental impact
What we need::
What experience you’ll bring:
  • Experience leading, coaching & mentoring a global team and working across cultures and geographies
  • Packaging development experience with tangible examples of cost optimisation, enhancing quality and ensuring sustainability
  • Knowledge of packaging materials, innovations and trends
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst being able to inspire change, efficiencies and continuous improvement within a commercial environment
  • Commercial awareness of how packaging contributes to customer experience and purchase decision making

We’re adopting a hybrid approach with some office and some home working, for this role you’ll spend on average 60% time in the office. Your office location? This person will be UK based with our Southampton Office.
