DWP Digital Group is organised into Communities of Practice, which are groups of people with similar or closely related skills, experience, and job responsibilities, so they can easily collaborate, share ideas and skills, in order to build their own capabilities and achieve better outcomes.
As a Lead Digital Practice Support Manager, you will take responsibility for driving forward an ambitious programme of transformation activities for the Data Community of Practice.
There will be an opportunity to work towards CIPD level 5 if you wish to develop further in this role.
As an experienced digital professional, you will be responsible for supporting and building capability within your Practice community. You will work closely with the Head of Practice, Executive Sponsor and Heads of Role to:
Contribute to the development of key strategies including ownership of deliverables that enable the achievement of Practice Plan objectives.
Identify and implement key performance metrics to drive continuous improvement to practice maturity.
Lead on demand and recruitment to understand business needs and demand profile, working with functions/HORs to ensure recruitment campaigns are aligned to HR policies and practices throughout the end- to- end process.
Help to attract and retain high calibre recruits into data job roles, using your personal network and insight to support recruitment activity across DWP Digital’s hub sites.
Identify and promote to internal and external stakeholders, development opportunities such as early talent initiatives for data professionals, such as apprenticeships and developing and scoping the potential for internal development schemes such as an internal data academy.
Developing outreach opportunities, including liaising with local schools and higher educational institutions.
Lead on and develop internal career pathways into Digital/Data.
Be an active member of the Digital Practice Support community, driving and leading opportunities to share knowledge and develop a strong community presence.
Work in partnership with the central Digital Capability Team to shape, understand and communicate the strategic objectives, frameworks, and tooling to accelerate Digital performance and quality by championing common standards, ways of working and resources, factoring in any specific needs or requirements of the disciplines and roles within the Data Practice.
Benefits
This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
Salary Information
Salary for this role is from £50,155 (Band min) to £60,781 (Band max).
Our offer to successful candidates will be based on an assessment of your skills and experience as demonstrated at interview.
Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer should maintain their current salary.
Existing Civil Servants who gain promotion may move to the bottom of the next grade pay scale or 10% increase in salary whichever would be the greater.
