We are currently recruiting for an Operations Assistant to join the Operation Christmas Child (OCC) Logistics department of Samaritan’s Purse International.

The role is full time (35 hours per week) and will be based in our Coventry office.

Duties will include the following:

  • Liaise with our fulfilment house to ensure readiness to launch the project annually in May
  • Maintain regular contact about orders, stock levels and to ensure prompt resolution of donor issues and queries.
  • Assist in the registration of Church Collection Centres (CCC) and Drop-off Locations (DOLs) and posting of their information on the OCC website
  • Prepare CCC and DOL kits, including outer cartons, during the off-season and arrange mailing in a timely way from September onwards.
  • Support the Facilities Manager in organising, procuring, and checking equipment for PCs (including one-week pop-up PCs) and in setting up PCs
  • Assist in stock checks and effective storage of Gifts in Kind donations and Shoebox Online products
  • Assist in loading and unloading vans and loading lorries for exports
  • Provide administrative support to the recruitment activities for PC volunteers, including of individual supporters, church and corporate groups
  • Support on reception of the Processing Centre registering volunteers during processing season. Participate in the rota leading volunteer processing sessions both of traditional shoeboxes and Shoebox Online and other duties in and around the building.
  • Organise the collections of shoeboxes from our Drop-off Locations and some of our principal donors, by liaising with supporters, drivers, team leaders and organising van hire when necessary.
  • Enter data accurately and process bookings and registration across all aspects of our campaign’s logistical needs.
  • Help update and implement the O&L Communication plan to different categories of volunteers, including the Enquiry Handling guide and assist in the briefing of colleagues in Donor Services
  • Work on the team managing some of the phone and email queries received about the OCC programme, in a courteous, friendly, timely and accurate way. This team will include seasonable temporary staff from September to December.
