Job Description

• To use technique of venepuncture and special procedures for particular tests
• Supervising trainee phlebotomists
• To ensure the reagents are prepared, stored and used in the manner suitable for patient investigation.
• Receiving, checking and allocating laboratory accession numbers for specimens brought to the Pathology reception.
• label all samples in line with the laboratory Standard Operating Procedures
• Be responsible for disposing sharps and clinical waste according to Trust policies

Position Requirements

• Must have phlebotomy certification
• Customer service skills
• professional manner
• Band 2/3
• Minimum 18 months experience
