We are recruiting aFull or Part Time Foundation year 3 Doctor.This is a one-year fixed term basis for the period of 2ndAugust 2023 to 7thAugust 2024. The post may be available to start earlier, should this suit the successful applicant.

Salary will be £40,257 pa for full time role, plus additional elements for any additional hours or weekend working.

This is a full time Foundation Year Three post, designed as an interim step to those junior doctors wanting further experience in medicine prior to making a commitment to specialist training. This is a Trust funded post which is rich in experience but not recognised as part of a formal training programme.

Duties are shared with the FY2, CMT and ST doctors working in the department.

Duties include:
  • With the existing FY and CMT doctors, provide junior doctor cover for haematology inpatients
  • Attend to patients who self-refer via the acute haematology service
  • Medical cover for patients attending the Weybourne day unit and VTE clinic
  • Weekly procedure list for bone marrows and line removal (training will be given)
  • Participation in departmental clinical governance and quality activities
The post has no on call commitments.

There is a weekly morphology (blood film) meeting. In addition, the department has monthly journal club and guideline of the month meetings, which the post holder is encouraged to attend.

Applicants must have full GMC registration with a licence to practice, have experience in medicine and holdfull competencies for Foundation years 1 & 2 by the date of appointment.
