Job overview

A short term contract has arisen for an enthusiastic Physiotherapy Support Worker, Band 3 to join the Carrick Community Rehabilitation Team based at Falmouth Community Hospital.

The post will be based within the community team supporting predominantly the Physiotherapy Team and would be excellent experience for anyone wanting to explore the Therapy profession.

We are looking for a person who has experience of working with a therapy approach to rehabilitation and wishes to develop their knowledge and skills whilst being part of a dynamic, progressive multidisciplinary team.

Under the guidance of the Physiotherapist you will be responsible for carrying out rehabilitation with patients within the community including mobility practice and exercise plans to work towards patient led goals.

You will need to have excellent organisational skills combined with experience of working in older person’s services. You will need a UK driving licence and the ability to travel to different locations within the locality to carry out interventions in people's homes.

We offer a friendly, supportive working environment where you can develop your clinical and interpersonal skills. CPD is actively encouraged and supported through regular supervision/appraisal and staff training. This post will require lone working.

Essential criteria
  • Good general education to GCSE or equivalent
  • Examinations taken in English Language, or IELTS qualification
  • NVQ level III qualification in therapy/care or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in a care environment
  • Experience of working with elderly or injured/disabled people
  • Experience of working with a therapy led approach
  • Previous work in the community or hospital setting
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of rehabilitation

Skills and aptitude

Essential criteria
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with patients with impaired communication abilities
  • Good organisational skill the ability to use initiative
  • Able to work as a team member
  • Computer Skills to include Microsoft packages
