Job Description

The Process Safety Engineer will:

  • Provide expertise on process safety risk assessments: HAZOP, LOPA, MOC, ATEX/DSEAR, OBRA
  • Lead and support other members of the SHE team in carrying out assessments
  • Drive action completion following assessments
  • Carry out basic consequence analysis using e.g., ALOHA
  • Provide technical information and be the "intelligent customer" when using 3rd parties for e.g., consequence analysis
  • Provide full basis of safety package for any new major accident scenarios identified and review and update existing bases of safety
  • Drive risk assessment reviews at the required frequency
  • Coach other process engineers in the assessment methodologies
  • Oversee and check the application of process safety elements during process design and project development
  • Provide technical support for process safety incident investigations

The Successful Applicant

The Process Safety Engineer will have:

  • Masters/Degree in Chemical Engineering (Chartered status is ideal)
  • Experience working on COMAH site(s)
  • 5+ years experience in a Process Safety Engineer role
