Being a Research Nurse is an exciting and rewarding clinical role. This person will work on a number of studies across the Trust to support our patients to access opportunities to be involved in Research studies. The post holder will identify suitable patients for studies, run clinics and ensure that data from these clinics is entered accurately.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Nurse who has an interest in providing high quality care in our Research studies. No previous experience in Research necessary - we will support the right candidate to gain all the skills and knowledge they need. We are a friendly, welcoming team committed to providing high quality care for our valued research patients and participants. We have a strong portfolio of studies in Mental Health, Dementia and Intellectual Disability, and are growing our portfolios across the Trust to encompass Respiratory, Parkinson's disease, Stroke and Cardiac amongst many others.

The main purpose of the job is to provide support for National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) portfolio adopted projects. You will work across a range of studies which include observational research, novel drug therapy and clinical interventions. Under direction of the senior research nurses/clinical studies officers you will participate in the recruitment and follow up of patients to research studies. The role will involve undertaking study related procedures as appropriate and the assessment, planning and on-going care of research participants throughout the duration of the study. We are keen to invest in and develop our staff and a variety of training opportunities will be provided.
We’re an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people’s physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.
