An opportunity has arisen for a keen scientist to join our team in the metabolic laboratory within the department of Chemical Pathology at Great Ormond Street Hospital. This is a busy laboratory providing a specialist service for the diagnosis & monitoring of a range of inborn errors of metabolism.The laboratory provides a service to patients within Great Ormond Street Hospital, patients from external hospitals and overseas. We also work with research and industry partners. We are fully accredited to UKAS (ISO 15189) standards.We are looking for someone with to work with teams at the Institute of Child Health & Great Ormond Street hospital to set up new diagnostic methods using liquid chromatography & mass spectrometry techniques. The post-holder would be accountable for method development, validation and training. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a diagnostic laboratory, and/or demonstrable experience of method development. A keen interest in metabolic biochemistry is essential.
